An affirmation...and an 8-count meal.

Because God is so big, we have a tough time coming up with ways to describe Him. So some folks came up with a whole line-up card full of nick-names, like Jehovah-Nissi (Lord is our banner), Jehovah-Rophe (...healer), Jehovah-Shalom (...peace).
Well tonight we were able to experience God as our Jehovah-Jireh - our provider and as El Shaddai - God all sufficient.

We were at Chik-Fil-A with about 150-175 of our friends, sharing fellowship around some nuggets and sweet tea (it is North Carolina). As a part of our efforts to raise money for the adoption we "hosted" a fundraiser there. They offered us 10% of receipts for those who dined as our "guests." There were 68 invitations turned in by the end of the night, and we considered the night a tremendous success.

However without question, the best part was how blessed we were by so many of the folks from our neighborhood and our church and the community coming out to support what God is doing with our family. This sounds corny, but I totally felt like Pepper Pointe (our neighborhood) was there as "a family". The folks at Wendell Baptist arrived in droves. Kids & staff from the high school, Zeke's baseball coach & family, some of the HOPE group (our home school families), etc., etc.

We just left there amazed at our God. He has been leading us with His heart for orphans and adoption (James 1:27, Psalms 68:5, Romans 8:23), and He is strengthening our faith in Him as our glory and our rearguard.
