First Blog (is this a milestone?)

Jamie's words...

So the first time I blog...brings up memories of my:

1st bike - Fonzie bike w/ training wheels, all in chrome.

1st time my life mirrored a movie - getting shot in the eye with a bb, like Ralphie from "A Christmas Story.'

1st homerun - oh yeah, never hit one of them.

1st car - the 1979 Pontiac Bonneville, called it the "Grand prize". It was passed down from Mom to Greg, to Jennifer to me. It died in the middle of an intersection. I don't remember just walking away and leaving it...but I should have.

1st real fight - So after I caught his foot (to keep him from continuing to kick me in the head with it), he then started to pummel me in the head with his fists. The principal asked what was going on, as I was bleeding from my face...to which I replied innocently "nothing." Also could be titled my last real fight.

...so you get the idea. So this is the first blog. Thanks for making it this far.

The blog is all about our desire to bring a child into our home through adoption. We will buy our plane tickets to Zambia today (the 9th). We leave on July 20th & will return no sooner than August 29th...with a baby boy. We will keep this as a record for us, and a source of information for you all.

Pray for us...it's been awesome so far. Pray as I speak to our church this Sunday, to help share God's heart for adoptino and orphans. Pray for us as we pack! Pray for next Wednesday the 14th, not only my 39th, but more so, we will be at the local Chik-Fil-A for a fundraiser. %10 of their take (from those who know us) will go to our adoption costs.
