Some of you may be asking yourselves "Where are the pictures of the Zambian children?" Well for starters, there is a sign asking for no photographs to be taken in the rooms where the babies reside(and the director asked us not to post any on the internet). We don't intend to take any pictures of any of the children until we identify the child we are going to adopt. But trust me, they are absolutely beautiful.
We had another wonderful day at the House of Moses. We were there for about 8 hours. We did take a few kids outside today but spent most of our time on the floor in a room with a dozen crawlers. "I've never met a stranger" Addie was the first of our 3 to plop down on the floor and begin playing. Rayna soon followed; she played catch and would hold the kids hands while they walked/danced around the room. Zeke got out a plastic laundry basket, put one or two kids inside, and then pulled them on the floor and then captured them in the basket which the kids thought was hilarious. Jamie, of course was doing all sorts of rough and tumble play. I mostly just sat on the floor and allowed as many on my lap as I could fit and they love laps).
There is another couple here from the states who are pursuing an adoption as well. We both have challenges ahead of us but in very different ways. As for us, we are having to make the very difficult decision of which of 6 adoptable boys (we realize now there are 6 instead of 5) we should pursue. This other couple, however, feel led to adopt a girl, 0-2 years. However, all of the girls in the orphanage right now, in that age range, are not in an adoptable status. In addition, House of Moses is not taking any new children right now because of a measle outbreak. So this couple is having to simply wait. Please pray that God will continue to lead both of us to the child He intends for our families. (FYI - there are several boys and girls in the House of Moses that are not available for adoption because they have not been released by a guardian or there is another family already trying to adopt them).
PS. the picture is of Jamie, Zeke & Rayna helping unload a food truck. It was about 40 - 25lb bags & 20 - 60lb bags of corn flour. So if someday you come to eat at our house, and we serve some product with corn, corn flour, corn meal, etc....and the kid throws his plate at the wall cuz he's sick of corn. Well that ought to explain it.
We miss you guys! So thankful of our time at the pool before you left. Praying every day for God to lead you to your little boy! Thanks for the updates...it helps us know how to pray specifically and keeps us all connected! Love you all! Kim:)
ReplyDeleteWayne had the same question about the photos and I assumed the same explaination.
ReplyDeleteWe, too, thank you for the updates so that it helps us know how to pray specifically for you all. Give our love to the kids. Will show the kids the posts later this am and let them comment to their cousins.
Is email good too? Or should we just use the comment sections to communicate?
